Stephen received his Master of Business Administration in 1975 from Dalhousie University. During the next five years, he worked with an international CA firm leaving his position as tax supervisor in 1980. He received his CA designation in 1977 and was awarded the Presidentís Award for achieving the highest mark on the National Uniform Exam in the Province of New Brunswick. After working with a national investment firm for two years, Stephen became a Partner in a local CA firm. During the next twenty years, Stephen was a Partner in several CA firms in the Saint John area.
Stephen has always given back to his community and served as a director for many organizations including C.A.M.R, VON, Saint John YMCA, and the RCS Old Boys Association. Stephen has also been very involved in committee work with the New Brunswick Institute of Chartered Accountants, the United Way of Greater Saint John and the Saint John Board of Trade. Stephen has lectured extensively over the years in the tax and accounting fields at the university and professional level.
Stephen joined Belyea Colwell & Associates in January 2006. Although Stephen retired in good standing from the Institute of Chartered Accountants several years ago, he is still a very active professional in the community. He carries a significant work load in his position with Belyea Colwell Daley Chartered Professional Accountants in the areas of audit, accounting, taxation and business advisory services.
